God has justified the ungodly through the righteous act of Jesus. Paul anticipates and answers a question based on an understanding of this act of grace concerning the Christian's relationship with sinful living. Each Christian has made a decision to grab hold onto Jesus' death and make it their own. Through Christ, we have been given a new, better life. By joining ourselves to the death of Christ, we will likewise be raised to eternal life. Our resurrected life is marked by freedom and absolute justification from sin. Christ has given us life in abundance; resurrection life from the dead. Christians can often forget their new life and identity possessed in Christ. Verse 11 and 13 describes the proper view of self for a Christian as people who have been brought from death to life. In verse 12, Paul calls for Christians to offer their bodies to serve God.
