Rubenstein Rare Book & Manuscript Library, Duke University);Format: Manuscript codex.;Title supplied by the cataloger.;Layout: Written in 1 column of 21 lines; unruled.;Script: The entire manuscript is written by one scribe. The hand is regular, open and carefully executed minuscule with alternate use of uncial and minuscule characters that slants to the right. The titles are written in red minuscules, the same as the text.;Decoration: Each section of the manuscript, except the portion containing the contents of the volume, has been supplied with a headpiece, a running penwork ornament with variations on several themes. Occasionally an ornamental red initial letter appears in the left margin and on occasions within the text itself.;Title cataloged from existing description.;Kyriakodromion, a series of homilies for 36 Sundays, based on lectionary texts, by Maximos the Peloponnesian.;Binding: The Byzantine binding of full dark brown goatskin over wooden boards is original. All edges of the boards are grooved, coming to a "Y" at the edges with the full thickness of the boards maintained at the corners on which the binder has placed a cross composed of five round elements supported on either side by annular stamps of two concentric circles. In the center of the panel formed by the frame is a lozenge (25 x 25 mm) with an unidentifiable combination of figures within, accented at the four corners a cruciform stamp, composed of five circles.
