- Dr. Myralyn Allgood with Dr. Wright holding the George Macon Memorial Award. Dr. Allgood was a professor of World Languages and Cultures (Spanish). She was a professor of Spanish from 1963 to 2013 . Dr. Allgood was a recipient of the George Macon Memorial Award 1976-1978. She is an alumna of Samford University (class of 1961). She retired in 2013 after teaching for 50 years and was named a Professor Emerita in 2016.
