- “The Fountain was formerly located in the center of 19th Street and 2nd Avenue. It was moved on account of traffic and when this photograph was made, stood in Capitol Park. It was sold by the city fathers for junk. The man in the picture is Emmet Simmons from Atlanta he worked for Bacon and Davis, an Engineering Firm which rebuilt the Birmingham Electric Company Properties.”
