  • Forms part of the Kenneth Willis Clark Collection of Greek Manuscripts (David M. Rubenstein Rare Book & Manuscript Library, Duke University);Format: Manuscript codex.;Title supplied by cataloger.;Layout: Written in 1 column of 20 lines; ruled for 20 lines with a fine dry point on the hair side. Prickings are visible in the fore edge margins and infrequently at the head and tail.;Script: The work of a single scribe in a firm, regular uncial and minuscule. The writing is pendant with a slightly rightward slant; the penlifs indicate a reed pen moving deliberately but swiftly.;Decoration: The ornamentation is interesting if unremarkable; all of it is simple penwork construction including the headpieces. Running ornamental penwork is frequently used to separate sections of the text, and both floriate and turned intitial letters in red and simple enlarged uncials are used. The only departure from the running penwork undulating line filled either with arcs or "t's" is the two-ply cable ornament in pink and void on leaf 9.;Title cataloged from existing description.;Tetraevangelion with lectionary calendar. Contains hypotheses, kephalia, and red headpieces, red initials, red Ammonian section numbers, red titloi and numbers. Signature numbers in red or brown on lower right of the first recto of the signature and on the lower left of the last verso.;Binding: Binding of wooden boards, uncovered, with parchment pastedowns, sewn in Byzantine style with Byzantine board attachments.
