Description
  • TEPA lectures No. 2. Goldsworthy outlines the major biblical texts which speak on the topic of regeneration. The Greek term for regeneration occurs twice in the New Testament: Matthew 19:28 and Titus 3:5. The term is used to cover the consummated kingdom of God and the retrospective transformation that has occurred in the working of God within the life of the believer. Secondly, Goldsworthy explores passages which speak of 'being born again'; John 3 is the traditional passage from which the doctrine of regeneration is derived. The phrase 'kingdom of God' has no direct antecedents within the Old Testament.
