• Thompson looks at how to avoid strange ideas from Revelation 6:1-8:5 by holding it in it's historical context. Thompson shows that there is a reason for perserverance, joy and confidence. He explains that in the vision, everything flows out of heaven, and the throne with the lamb does not change. Thompson shows that the imagery of catastrophies also transfers to his current audience. He explains that salvation is still secure amongst judgement. Thompson explains that because Jesus has triumphed, there must be severe judgement on the world. He stresses that God will reveal and protect his people.
