Rachel Chan, interviewed for the OCF Heritage Project, shares her journey from Mauritius to Sydney in 2009 to study medicine at UNSW. She joined Overseas Christian Fellowship (OCF) UNSW, drawn to its student-led ministry and warm community. She served as Local Committee Secretary (2009-2011) and OCF Australia EXCO Chair (2013), addressing declining student numbers and small center struggles. Influenced by Mary Chin, Rob Robayna, and Australia Indigenous Ministry missionaries, she led Bible studies, prayer meetings, and a mission trip to Cherbourg, QLD. Now a GP in rural NSW, she encourages students to prioritize faith, Scripture, and Christian fellowship.
