Description
  • Talk given at St Matthias church. Barbara Hughes shares her testimony of God’s provision during surgery and fibrinogen deficiency (lack of blood clotting). The speaker shares anecdotes and advice from her book Common Sense Parenting including: have fun, cherish and collect memories, appreciate idiosyncrasies in light of Philippians 4:8. Parents play a role in loving and training children, but entrust God to do the changing. Sometimes God uses the wounds of a friend (Proverbs 27), to convict children or adolescents, instead of using their parents. Cites family and children as one of the most impactful ministries you can have, and the gospel opportunities through school life, local sport clubs and community involvement.
