- The Evergreen Presbyterian Church was organized in 1910 with 38 members. Rev. D. W. McIver was first pastor and served 3 years. Rev. J. B. Carpenter, our second pastor served 14 years. Rev. T. S. Smylie, third pastor, served 4 years. Rev. George Belk, fourth pastor, served 3 years, (and died while in service). Our present pastor, Rev. W. J. Millard came in 1934 and our membership in December 1953 was 1668. Our new church was completed in 1951.
