• Shell Road at the Bend. Shell Road is paved with oyster shells, - hence its name. It skirts the Bay for several miles, from Mobile to the South End. Monroe Park, at the city's southern limits, is reached by this road, whre an unobstructed view of the Bay can be had. 'At the Bend' is one of the picturesque spots along the road.
