Established in 1903, Western Michigan University Libraries operates three facilities that support the research and curricular needs of the campus and regional community. Constructed in 1958, the Dwight B. Waldo Library is the main library on WMU’s campus in Kalamazoo, Michigan and houses the university’s print collections, features a variety of collaborative and individual study spaces and offers extensive research, computing and technology services.
The Swain Education Library opened in Sangren Hall in 2012 and provides space for students to study, collaborate and engage in academic support services and programming with campus partners.
The Zhang Legacy Collections Center opened in 2013 and currently houses the Libraries’ distinctive collections, including the University Archives, southwest Michigan historical collections, and rare books and manuscripts.
