Unitarian Universalist Women and Religion Records

Actions

This collection documents the work of Unitarian Universalist Women and Religion (UUWR), including the work of district and regional committees/task forces across the United States. The organization is dedicated to “freeing ourselves, others, and the Earth from traditional, historical, and contemporary oppressive and patriarchal systems.” The Women and Religion Resolution was passed at the Unitarian Universalist Association’s General Assembly in 1977 and established the Women and Religion Committee to oversee its implementation. District Women and Religion Committees and Task Forces also began to form as early as 1977 to develop implementation recommendations of the Resolution. The bulk of materials date from the late 1970s to the early 2010s and include publications and programming documentation, newsletters, some district files, correspondence, conference programs, and other administrative records.
