User CollectionDescription: James Gunther was born in Oberschwandorf, Germany. He studied at the CMS College in Islington and was ordained in 1836. After sailing to Australia in 1837 he went to the Wellington Valley as a CMS missionary. From 1843-1879 he was rector of St John's Mudgee, and then Canon of All Saints Bathurst. -
