Date: 1915 Contributing Institution: Union Presbyterian Seminary Library Description: Staff with young scholars. On reverse, three men are identified as : Murray Gray [should be Matt McMurray Grey, BD 1914], Superintendent; Webster Rhoads and Owsley Sanders of Grace Street Church. Inscription on front says "Taken 4/11/15 x John Little from Louisville." Little directed a settlement house in Louisville, KY (also started by Presbyterian seminary students) that served as a model for the Seventeenth Street Mission project. Little is marked with an x on the photograph. Handwritten message from Grey to W.G. Somerville : "Att[endance] 4/4 - 411 b[lacks] - 20 w[hites], 4/11 - 403 b[lacks] 38 w[hites]. Av[erage] for last 4 Sundays 454 b 29 w. Have been trying to find time to write. Very busy, but writing soon. Am looking for you in June. M.M.G." -
