    Description: Updated book by Stanley Armstrong Hunter (1888-1959) that includes 1940 activities.This version has additional and different photographs. Hunter was born near Toronto, Canada. He followed in his father's footsteps and became a Presbyterian minister. He received his undergraduate degree from Princeton (1910), an MA from Columbia University, a divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary (1916), and an honorary doctorate in divinity from Occidental College (1925). He served as assistant pastor in the Central Presbyterian Church in New York City and in the Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church. He was pastor of North Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh and an associate editor of the Presbyterian Banner. He moved west and served as pastor of St. John's Presbyterian Church in Berkeley, CA from 1924-1954. He was interim pastor until 1955 at Centennial Presbyterian in Oakland, CA. He retired in 1957. According to the back cover, the ten shields on the front are from the drawings of Walter H. Ratcliff, Jr., which were used for the relief carvings on the outside of the Holbrook building at Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley.
