  • Part of the chain of Spanish-California Missions, the one at Santa Barbara, known as the Queen of the Missions, is one of America's best known historic and religious shrines. It is said to be the second most photographed building in the country, only the Capitol in Washington outdoing it. It was founded in 1786.
