Introduction: 30 lines per page, written in red naskh with section headings in black. Qurʼān text fully vocalized; recitation and orthography marks in black, red and green. Catchwords. Sūrah introductions in red. Verse markers consist of three red dots; text framed in red and black. Aḥzāb noted in red in margins. First two pages of Qurʼān text (leaves 6b-7a) framed in red and green bands, with simple white scroll work in central red band. Text framed in black and double red lines. Extensive marginal notes on recitation and faḍāʼil written in zigzag form in red and black; a few notes are written horizontally in purple ink by a different hand. Leaves 1a-3a, 5b, 189b-191a, 192a-b blank; notes on leaves 6a, 191b. Extensive damp staining, particularly in margins, causing some of the notes to be smudged and partially illegible.;A complete copy of the Qurʼān from Harar, featuring a fine example of Harari binding.
