Terra-cotta oil lamp, 3rd-4th century C.E. Provenance: Syro-Palestinian. Buff clay, brittle. Rounded base with slight band. Herring-bone pattern on rim. Slightly raised handle. Bordered cross on nozzle with four circle pattern. Nozzle indents and widens. Wide band on fill hole. Blackened wick hole. Condition: very fine, horizontal crack on back side, extends vertically to rim. 8.0 cm length, 2.6 cm height. JPG file (116 KB).
