  • Lithograph of Baron Stow. 1881. Baron Stow was born in Croydon, New Hampshire on June 16, 1801. After graduating from the academy in Newport, New Hampshire, he went on to Columbian College, Washington, D.C., in 1822. He was called to pastor the Baptist church in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and was ordained there on October 24, 1827. In 1832 he became pastor of the Baldwin Place Church in Boston, where he remained until 1848. After a brief period of relaxation, Stow accepted the pastorate of the Rowe Street Church, from which he later resigned in 1867. He died on December 27, 1869. JPG file (314 KB)
