Description
  • The monument in the foreground will mark the site of the First Church of Christ, which was the first meeting house in the territory now called Vermont. The bronze figure of heroic size, mounted on a native boulder, will represent Parson Dewey, the first resident Priest of the Separates who settled Bennington and erected the building in 1763-5.
