Description
  • On February 9, 1709, the Wesley family home at the rectory in Epworth burned. Six year old John was narrowly rescued from the fire by neighbors. The experience left a deep impress on John Wesley, who later in life referred to himself as a "brand plucked from the burning." Gift of the Rev. W.E. Trice. JPG file (198 KB).
